Over the last ten years The Cherry Pickers have been wandering their own bluegrass path, turning over old songs to see what’s underneath and uncovering a few newer ones along the way. The Cherry Pickers were born on Adelaide’s flatlands but they can be found performing original music and bluegrass classics all over South Australia and beyond.
The Cherry Pickers band features banjo, dobro, mandolin, upright bass and guitar, and their love for bluegrass and acoustic music shines through in every performance. They play reguarly around Adelaide and have also appeared on various festival line-ups, including the Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival, Mountaingrass Festival, and the Fleurieu Folk Festival. The Cherry Pickers have recorded two albums ‘The Waitpinga Sessions’ and ‘Hand Picked’, a collection of Australian songs uncovered in bluegrass.
